The moor village
The moor village Bad Kohlgrub is part of the cultural monuments in the Ammergau Alps and has a long tradition as health resort and spa town. A bath with the natural remedy ‘mountain pine high moor’, which is produced here, is especially relaxing. In addition to the spa history the charcoal burning, through which the place probably got its name, plays a big part. Today, this tradition is maintained every year in May with the charcoal burning days. Visitors experience this and more with their smartphones when they let themselves be guided through Bad Kohlgrub.
