The enchanted mountain
The heart of the Messner Mountain Museums, MMM Firmian on castle Sigmundskron near Bolzano, addresses the subject of man’s encounter with the mountains. Between Schlern and the Texelgruppe outside – art, installations, artefacts inside – the spacious facility sets the course. Reinhold Messner personally guides visitors through the multimedia guide, explaining the background of the various exhibitions and covering the time from the formation of the mountains to alpine tourism today.
